Gorakh Foundation

Gorakh Foundation is one of the largest and most recognized registered relief and development entity in the country, registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, with Registration No.6117 and certify under the Sindh Charity Act. Gorakh focuses on innovative solutions to sustainable development, alleviation of extreme poverty at grassroots level and providing humanitarian response in emergencies. Gorakh is working across the Sindh Province providing relief and development assistance and responding to all calamities and disasters to support, affected communities especially most vulnerable groups of society through its life saving humanitarian interventions and sustainable development programs focusing Health, Education, Economic empowerment, Food Security and livelihood, WASH, Shelter and Disaster Preparedness & Response. Gorakh has valid NOCs issued by the respective District Governments/ DDMAs.

The Organization is a member of reputable Networks including National Humanitarian Network (NHN) with acknowledged capacity in responding to humanitarian crises in Country and working closely with local communities and District Governments. The Gorakh Foundation has implemented No. of projects across Sindh and Baluchistan Provinces, especially women and child focused projects with the support of national/ International donor agencies like UN-Women, USAID, WFP, UNDP, CARE International, JSI, BHP, CIDA, LEAD Pakistan, GRC, Action-aid, TDEA, ACTED, SEF, Govt. of Sindh and others to reach communities across the both provinces 1.16 million families including 0.36 million women, 0.19 million men and 0.61 million Girls & boys, through donor supported interventions.

Over the years the Organization has developed the expertise required to meet the basic needs of vulnerable communities. We have built up this expertise over the years of intervention with the support of National/International Donor agencies and local/Provincial governments. Sindh and Baluchistan where we currently intervene, with 121 full time professionals focus on DRR, health and education projects especially focus on out of school children.
